Formed in 1894, Leonia has grown to become home to 9,000 residents. Like all of Bergen County, the original inhabitants were Native Americans and Leonia eventually became part of the English Neighborhood, an area in nearby Englewood. An incredible array of notable people are from this beautiful town: Alan Alda, Anthony Bourdain, Sammy Davis, Jr., just to name a few.
